Day 16

Today, I didn’t nothing. I actually think I migth be getting sick! Borgar and I did go talk to a greif councelor.. I guess that’s something.

Day 15

Today was all about Ellse. We went outside and made a snowman, we made a jewlery box and we cooked dinner together.

Day 14

Today I rode Dancer all alone in the back field. This is something I’ve done many, many times in the past with “my” horse – SB. This was a very daunting task for me – for several reasons. One – the guilt of doing anything I used to enjoy before Eirik, two – I have never done this since SB, three – I’ve only ridden Dancer 2 or 3 times before.

I can’t say it was the most enjoyable ride, but we both survived.

Day 13

My task for today: leave the house. I have avoided shopping and the public in general since Eirik’s funeral. It takes too much out of me. But, I went to several stores – the craft store to get some necessary yarn, the clothing store to get Ellse some shoes (they light up!) and finally the grocery store.

Borgar will be happy, home made dinner every night this week.

Day 12

Today, I finish the baby blanket – it didn’t come out as I has hoped – so I’m making a new one. I also worked on my other blanket, finished Ellse’s room, and grommed a horse.

Next week I have to go back to work. I am not looking forward to that. I have a feeling it will be very emotionally difficult.

Day 11

I cleaned the yard and the barn today – a full truck of trash to go to the dump. I am almost done with the baby blanket – not sure what I’ll do with it yet. My next project maybe something a bit more diffucult – a baby jacket. We’ll see how that goes.

Day 10

Not too long now before I have to go back to work. I’m a bit worried about that – but life must go forward.

Today, I went and purchased all the items we need to add a room to the garage. It will be a library / Mark’s room.

Day 8 / 9

Yesterday, I forgot to write! All the tasks are running over more than one day – but at least, stuff is getting done. I have only one wall left in Ellse’s room (second coat) and the wood border is finished being stained. I also started a new baby blanket, probably done with that pretty quick.

Today, my task was to ride a horse – which I did. A very short, uneventful jog around the front yard. The guilt is almost overwhelming.

Det er onsdag morgen, det er 0 grader utenfor, og sola har begynt aa bli varmere. Venter paa at Ellse skal staa opp. I morgen er det “thanksgiving”. Vi er invitert til en av Jennifers mange venner til middag. Ikke helt mat jeg har blitt vant til enda, men det kommer nok. I aar har jeg endelig funnet en butikk som selger ribbe og polser. saa i aar blir det norsk jule middag her i Edgewood.

It is wednesday morning, it is 0 degress outside, and the sun has started to rise. I am waiting for Ellse to wake up. Tomorrow morning is “thanksgiving”. We have been invited to Jennifer’s friends house for dinner. The food is not the holiday food I am used to having, not yet at least. I have finally found a shop that sells ribs and sausage, so I will have a traditional norwegian christmas dinner here in Edgewood.
