Jennifer the hero??

From the ABQ Journal today:

Woman Saved in Fire

A woman pulled her mother’s neighbor from a burning apartment Wednesday afternoon at 1829 Mary Ellen shortly before it was destroyed by fire.

Jennifer R Strand, 33, of Edgewood was moving items into her mother’s second floor apartment when she smelled smoke and heard an alarm.

Next door, she found a woman in her 50s sitting beside a couch on fire. The woman yelled at strand to get out.

“I don’t think she understood what was going on,” Strand said, adding she had to physically pull the partially clad woman out. Strand then knocked on two apartment doors downstairs and got two more people safely evacuated.

Firefighters found the woman sitting on the sidewalk with a blanket around her. Strand said the woman’s hair was singed and her skirt was burned.

The woman, whose identity was not released, was taken to University of New Mexico hospital, Albuquerque Fire Capt. Mike Paiz said. Her apartment was destroyed.

Posted under Uncategorized

We were at the zoo… she asked.. so I of course let her. We actually know the guy who owns this camel – he lives here in the east mountains and is friends with Mark. He won’t let us come out to his ranch and ride (not as confined as the zoo) so here we are at the rio grande zoo Riding Camels!!

Finally, the round baby blanket I started months ago is done! It came out much larger than I expected.. and I don’t like the colors.. but I’m sure we will find a use for it. Maybe a gift…

Oh, Mom!

Posted under Uncategorized

Yesterday, I was working on my knitting machine – trying a new pattern to make a pullover sweater for one of Ellse’s friends. After making the first piece, it was obvious that it would be far too small.

I had Ellse come over and held it up to be sure, and she said “MOM – You gotta think big!” – ohhh my, next she will be telling me to “think outside the box”.
