On our weekend trip we found the snow! Here is Ellse, who is over 3 feet tall – standing on the road – er, what they call a road – really a sheet of ice you skate your car along and try not to hit anything!

Finally, Ellse and I got to meet our horse, Jofrid. She was a perfect lady. She stood to be caught, stood to have us pet and brush her, stood for her feet and stood nice while we fed her some treats. She is great with Ellse and seems to be happy to be around people. Monday, I’m going to take a bus for the first time and try to get to Helene’s house so we can go for a ride. FUN!Now, we are on a weekend trip to Freystal to take a leather making class taught by Peter. Tomorrow, after the class we will probably go sledding – there is about 1 1/2 meter of snow outside. I haven’t seen this much snow since the last time I was in norway!

This is the view from my school!! Beautiful.
Today I went to my first norwegian (norsk) class. Very interesting group of girls. Yes, my whole class is made up of 6 girls + me – 2 from samilia, one from brazil, one from poland and one from afghanstan, and one from thiland. We worked our way thru basic introductions of name, where we were from and how many kids we have.
I also made my first all norwegian dinner! Borgar was very happy – it included a norwegian necessity – sauce. Vegetables, rice and sauce.
Now, if we could just get over this time change… poor Ellse is a mess.

The 8 hour time difference is taking it’s toll!! It’s 1:00 AM at home, yet, morning here – so I am awake.
Welcome to Norway, land of SNOW! This picture is from the drive from the airport to Digernes. Yes, the snow was as high as the car window!
Today I am off to register with the local police. Wish me luck.
